Frequently Asked Questions About Fin-Boost

How much can I borrow from Fin-Boost?

botarr

Through Smarter Loans, $200 to $1,500. Fin-Boost advertises payday loans from $100 on its own site; applications we send start at $200. The loan is repaid in instalments over a term of 42 to 62 days, at least three instalments, or at least two if you are paid monthly.

Who qualifies for a Fin-Boost loan?

botarr

You must live in Alberta and be 18 or older, and you connect your bank account during the application so Fin-Boost can confirm the account and your paydays. Applications sent through Smarter Loans also need net income of at least $2,200 a month, paid once or twice a month. Fin-Boost says it weighs your overall situation rather than your credit score alone, and invites applicants with less than perfect credit.

How fast does Fin-Boost send the money?

botarr

Fin-Boost sends funds by Interac e-Transfer or bank transfer once your agreement is signed and checked by its team, and emails you when the money reaches your account. It does not publish a guaranteed funding time. Applications are accepted at any hour and the contact centre is open Monday to Sunday, 8:00 to 20:00.

What does a Fin-Boost loan cost per $100 borrowed?

botarr

Fin-Boost charges $14 per $100 lent, stated the same way on its home page, loan page, FAQ and disclosure page, with no application fee and no other charges before the first instalment. Its own worked example is a $300 loan over 42 days repaid in three instalments of $114: $42 to borrow, $342 owing in total, an annual percentage rate of 170.56 percent. A payday loan is high cost credit.

Does government benefit income count toward the income requirement?

botarr

No. Government benefits and social assistance are excluded from the $2,200 monthly floor that applies to applications sent through Smarter Loans. A pension does count, so retirement income is treated as income rather than as a benefit. If benefits are your main income, this is not the right lender to apply to.

Is Fin-Boost licensed in Alberta, and how can I check?

botarr

Yes. Fin-Boost is the trading name of Loan Bridge Ltd., which publishes Alberta payday loan licence 357989, expiring 31 January 2027. You can confirm it yourself in the Service Alberta licensed business search: search the business name Loan Bridge with licence type Payday Loans and the record returns LOAN BRIDGE LTD. doing business as FIN-BOOST in Calgary. That search lists active licences only.
